Clean Roof And Lawn Of Debris
Things like sticks, branches, old leaves, etc. This is also a prime time to inspect your roof of any damages or repairs. Look for missing/damage shingles and check the flashing to ensure no leaks will happen.
This is a very important spring task to keep your gutters doing their job properly. Hire a professional or DIY, just make sure it gets done. Also make sure to do this before your start any work on your lawn/flowerbeds and after you clean off the roof.
Wash Off And Place Outdoor Furniture
Hopefully you properly stored your outdoor furniture over the winter. Now is the time to bring it out and dust it off. If you have fabric cushions, make sure to wash them (following the directions on the tag).
Lawn care is a big part of Spring home maintenance so here are a few things you can do to get your lawn in tip-top shape for the late spring and summer months. Overseed bare-spots in lawn and fertilize it. This will help your lawn not only become fuller but when you mow there won’t be dirt spots to make it more difficult.
Weed out your flowerbeds and remove all the older mulch. Apply weed killer to prevent weeds from coming back and apply new mulch once the weather is warmer. You can also plant new flowers to give your home a fresh new dose of curb appeal.
Power-wash Decking & Walkway
Your decking and walkway can really take a beating in the winter months. Sweep them off and power-wash over them to clean and refresh. With your deck you may want to re-apply a stain if needed.
