Gutter Leaks After Thunderstorms

Post Image

Gutter Leaks After Thunderstorms happen. Gutter Leaks After Thunderstorms. Spring thunderstorms are about to roll through your neighborhood at a moment’s notice and this can cause gutter leaks. Your gutters need to be in a good condition to handle the downpour so you won’t have to deal with a puddle on your sidewalk from water shooting over the top. It’s important to get your gutters cleaned at least twice a year to prevent clogs from happening. A couple things you can do to make sure that your gutters handle downpours from thunderstorms is: Clean Your Gutters: By cleaning your gutters at least twice a year this not only prevents clogs from happening but the better care you take of your gutters the longer life you’ll receive out of them. Install Gutter Guards: Installing a gutter guard system on your home can be a real help and ultimate time saver if you are needing to clean off your gutters more than twice a year. This is only truly necessary for homeowners who are constantly having to clean out their gutters Replace Gutters On Your Home: If you’re unsure of how old your gutter actually are, it might be best to have them inspected to see if you need to install a new system.   If you let your gutters stay on until they fall off it might cause more harm and cost your more money in the long run.  Gutters that fall off of your home can break windows, and siding.  Damage your fascia boards. Also if you have gutters over your driveway they could fall and hit your vehicles.  All of these cost much more money than just getting your gutters replaced. Make Sure You Have The Right Gutters For Your Home: You might love your half-round gutters but they may not be the right gutters to help your home handle a downpour that they’d have dropped on them.  It might be the best to use a K-Style which are designed to hold a little bit more water.  If your home experiences a lot more rain every year it might be best to choose the K-Style instead of a half-round. So always make sure to see what the average rainfall is for your area before replacing your entire system.
